Phillips Preiss Shapiro Associates, a planning and real estate consulting firm with offices in New York, NY, Red Bank, NJ and Great Barrington, MA, currently has two positions available.

NEW JERSEY LICENSED PROFESSIONAL PLANNER
The first opening is for a mid- to senior-level urban planner to play an active role in our thriving New Jersey practice. Candidates must have a New Jersey PP license and a minimum of five years experience appearing before and/or representing planning and zoning boards in New Jersey. Private sector experience a plus, particularly in land use, zoning, plan reviews and testimony. The position could be based in either our New York or Red Bank offices.

ENTRY-LEVEL PLANNER
The second opening is for an entry-level planner in our New York office. This “generalist” planner position will introduce the selected candidate to a wide range of projects in diverse settings. The firm’s work covers a wide range of topics, including land use, zoning, economic development, downtown revitalization, comprehensive planning, redevelopment, market analysis, housing, neighborhood planning and urban design. Candidates should be bright, flexible and hardworking, with good writing skills and the ability to handle multiple projects. A graduate degree in city, urban and/or regional planning is desired.
