Senior Transportation Planner
Berkshire Regional Planning Commission

Seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Senior Transportation Planner for a regional planning agency in western Massachusetts.  Great place to live, low housing costs, famous cultural attractions, natural beauty and outdoor recreation.

Position serves as staff to the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission (BRPC) and the Berkshire MPO.  Reports to the Transportation Program Manager.  Provides technical assistance to Berkshire County municipalities for transportation planning and programming.   Responsible for developing and managing studies of transportation issues involving all modes of travel, including automobiles,  bicycles, pedestrians and transit, with emphasis on plans that lead to implementation of transportation improvements.  Represents BRPC at public and interagency meetings. Occasionally supervises interns and leads project teams.

The Senior Transportation Planner position requires 4+ years of direct experience in transportation planning.  A Master's Degree in planning or related field is desired (applicable advanced degree may substitute for 1-2 years of work experience).   Desired qualities include a demonstrated ability to initiate and expeditiously complete assignments, advanced analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and superior multitasking and time management abilities.

Starting salary range is $47,640-$54,915 annually, with a competitive benefit package.  35 hour work week with flex time available.  Position open until filled.
