Tom Stearns

The firm was founded in 2004 by Tom Stearns, AICP, PP, CLA, after a 16 year career as a studio principal at Hillier Architecture. Tom has over 30 years experience and is licensed to practice landscape architecture in NJ, NY, PA, CT, OH, MD, DE, NC, KS, KY and TX.

Through his extensive experience, he is familiar with federal, state and local land use regulations and knows what it takes to get a project through the governmental approval process.

Tom is both a Professional Planner and Landscape Architect in New Jersey. He has provided C & D variance testimony in support of applicants’ projects as a professional planner in many New Jersey municipalities.

Redevelopment

Recently the firm has been involved in many exciting urban redevelopment projects that have been designed as either residential or higher density mixed-use developments, and have involved principles of new urbanism. We have provided creative and well designed land plans for many developer clients.

Sustainable Design/LEED

We have also pursued sustainable design solutions and LEED certification on several projects. Tom Stearns is in the process of becoming a LEED Accreted Professional and is very familiar with LEED NC Version 2.2 Reference Guide, and has worked on integrated design teams to think and work across disciplines on sustainable solutions.
